Use Your School’s Identity as the Foundation for Your Long-term Plan

March 16, 2021 @ 9:00 am 10:00 am PDT

Presented by: Rachel Phillips

Antonio shared how he used Abraham Lincoln High School’s (ALHS) shared identity and vision for readiness to create an innovation plan for a College and Career Academy within the school that blends the high school experience with a college-going and career exploration culture.

In this workshop we will explore:

  1. How a school community can build a shared identity and vision to guide long-term strategic planning.
  2. Strategies for engaging staff, students, and families in authentic ways that foster ownership instead of just “buy-in.”
  3. Lessons from Abraham Lincoln High School’s journey to create an innovation plan blending high school, college, and career readiness.

By participating, you will be ready to:

  1. Translate a shared vision into actionable steps that connect classroom learning with future college and career pathways.
  2. Apply concrete approaches to strengthen transparency and trust when leading change.

About the Presenters

Prior to Inflexion, Rachel worked for two years in university admissions as a student ambassador. She networked with thousands of students and helped at recruitment events focusing on nontraditional or underrepresented student populations and families. In this role, she helped be an advocate for continuing education after high school and connecting students and families to resources to make those dreams a reality. That role cemented her desire to continue to support and improve our education system for each and every student, which she’s carried into her various roles at Inflexion.
