This interactive workshop equips you to become a communication architect. Here, you’ll delve into practical strategies to create a communication network that encourages two-way dialogue so your school can become a place where information flows freely, there is trust, and everyone is heard and valued.

About the Presenters

With over 22 years of experience in education, Kyle Laier has traversed diverse roles across various school settings, consistently championing student success and leadership development. His journey began in Desert Hot Springs, California, where he led the establishment of a new high school in a vibrant, high-needs community. Transitioning to Oregon, Kyle embarked on a dynamic career path, first as a college basketball coach before transitioning to middle school teaching in Oregon City.

Carol Fenstermacher, APR, owner of FenstermacherPR specializing in school district communications, retired in 2021 after eight years as Chief Communications Officer for Centennial School District (Portland, OR). Previously, she served as Director of Community Relations for Evergreen School District (Vancouver, WA) for 14 years, and held communications roles with the City of Portland, Portland Rose Festival Association, and United Way. A dedicated member of NSPRA, she served as President (2018-19) and Northwest Regional Vice President (2012-15), alongside board roles in WSPRA and OSPRA. Holding her APR since 2004, she has also served on numerous community boards, including Habitat for Humanity and IRCO, and was international president of Women in Communications, Inc. (1994-95).
