Engaging the Empowered Learner: Building Curriculum and Instruction for Student-Driven PBL

February 6 @ 7:30 am – 8:30 am PST
Presented by: Alexa Achille, Ms.Ed and Elise Kuykendall, M.Ed
Imagine classrooms where students are more than passive learners. They’re active participants, driving their own learning journey through Project-Based Learning (PBL). This interactive workshop equips educators with the tools to ignite student agency, self-knowledge, and passion for learning. We’ll focus on how to build a learning environment where students are more than just participants, they’re co-creators.
Learn how to adapt curriculum and instruction to fuel student interest, self-knowledge, and agency within an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
In this workshop we’ll explore:
- Strategies to identify and integrate student interests into PBL projects, creating a more meaningful learning experience.
- Methods to help students develop their strengths, interests, and learning styles to guide their PBL journey.
- How to adapt curriculum and instruction to support PBL.
By participating in this workshop you’ll be ready to:
- Identify and integrate student interest into your current curriculum.
- Establish classroom practices to support student exploration of their strengths, interests, and learning styles.
- Determine which PBL strategies you will adapt into your current curriculum.
