Elevating Student Voice: Empowering Students to Shape Their Learning Journey

May 21 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm PDT
Presented by: Mike Garling and Elise Kuykendall, M.Ed
This workshop equips educators to transform student feedback collection from a passive exercise to a cornerstone of decision-making. We’ll explore how to gather student input effectively, disaggregate data to identify diverse needs, and use student voice to inform individual and programmatic decisions.
In this workshop, we’ll explore:
- How student feedback can effectively be used and implemented–closing the loop and fostering a culture of shared ownership for student success.
- How to identify patterns and ensure all student voices are heard.
- Methods for empowering students to inform decisions that impact their learning.
By participating in this workshop, you will be ready to:
- Gather, analyze, and disaggregate student data for targeted action.
- Implement frameworks for closing the feedback loop and demonstrating the value of student voice.
- Actively involve students in shaping individual learning plans, classroom activities, and even programmatic decisions that impact their learning environment.
