Identify current opportunities provided to students including academic, behavioral, social emotional, extracurricular, clubs, etc. Think about the whole ecosystem of opportunities and supports offered to students at school

  • For each support and/or opportunity identified by the leadership team, who is or is not currently being supported. Think about demographics such as socioeconomic status, race, program, gender, LGBTQ.
  • For each support and/or opportunity, think about how students find out about it. Is there a gatekeeper of information? For students underrepresented in this opportunity, what is their proximity and relationship with the communication gatekeeper?
  • What is required to participate in this activity? Do students have barriers like multiple signatures and approvals from multiple adults? For students underrepresented in this opportunity, what is their proximity and relationships with the gatekeepers of this opportunity? Is it easy for them to know who these people are and then to approach them?
  • For each support and/or opportunity who is offering the support to students (i.e. counselors, coaches, extracurricular teachers, community-based organizations, CARE team, SIT team)?
