Experience |
I began my career as a stockbroker on a trading floor. From there, it made sense to become a math teacher. As with most people, I specialized in math because I was good at it and loved studying it. When I became a middle school and high school math teacher, I realized there was so much more to teaching than sharing cotent. As a second career teacher, I quickly saw the gaps in serving all students. Relationships, procedures and routines facinated me. Early in my education career, my principal had the entire teachig staff trained in Cognitive Coaching and I began my journey in coaching learners to take ownership of their learning. I went on to become an Alternative, Middle and High school administrator and my passion for coaching extended to my practice for working with adult learners. In my doctoral program, I studied Appreciative Inquiry, Non-Violent Communication, Restorative Practices and systems theory. Employing these strategies with my staffs. I became a district administrator and learned to use budgets, grants an stakeholder input support initiatives and design technology systems to monitor my work.
I am excited to learn about the work of school and district leaders, celebrate successes and help support engaging instruction for all learners.
