Experience

Greetings! I am an experienced education leader committed to creating inclusive, equitable learning environments that empower students, educators, and communities to thrive. With a focus on culturally-responsive leadership practices, I have led successful initiatives in program expansion and revision, staff development, and curriculum design.

I have a proven track record of implementing practices that foster a sense of community, build trust, and empower others to take ownership of their learning. My approach has resulted in increased engagement, improved program completion, and a more inclusive culture. I create and manage interactive, engaging professional learning (asynchronous, synchronous, and hybrid) in collaboration with others as demonstrated with recognitions such as the CA Distinguished Schools award and 1 of 10 Most Promising Schools in CA. My achievements include expanding an organization from 2 programs to 8, developing learning programs, policies and practices, and improving program completion and accreditation status.

I have been praised for my ability to build bridges and partnerships, leading to sustained community support and successful events. I have also established and led a successful Virtual Mentor Program, resulting in increased program enrollment and financial growth. As a Lead for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, I collaborate with staff to set goals and conduct engaging professional learning. My approach is aimed at advancing an environment where employees can be their authentic selves and understand how their work contributes to the organization’s overarching goals.

Through instructional coaching and mentoring, I have helped people grow in their roles, leading to an increase in credentials and higher quality programs. In addition to managing multiple project timelines and budgets, I have experience in grant writing and data analysis. My top skills include:* systems thinking and management* instructional content design * virtual learning management* professional development * coaching/mentoring.

As a model of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic, I am committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities that anchor all of the programs I work with, and I am dedicated to advancing equity and promoting social-emotional learning and teaching practices.

Journey

I got here through

One skill or characteristic that has helped me move through transitions in life is to just do it: I don’t know what I’m doing and I’m doing it anyway.   This keeps me from decision paralysis, knowing I don’t have to do it perfectly and I can modify as I go and as I learn.

My hope for this community

My greatest hopes for meeting with school leaders in my cohorts this year include learning from and supporting each other in a collaborative coaching space of trust, productivity and confidentiality. I also hope for fun, humor and lightheartedness in our work together … for validation in seeing, hearing and valuing each other. Out of our time together, I hope for empowerment and, ultimately, transformation, on personal and professional levels.
