  Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based framework for supporting students’ academic success, social-emotional learning, and school climate. Racial inequities in school discipline such as suspensions and expulsions are widespread and well-known, contributing to disparate outcomes for students of color. Hence, explicitly centering racial equity in implementing PBIS or any other behavioral management framework is crucial to helping all students succeed, instead of reinforcing existing inequities. This Crowdsource Coffee features discussion about how leaders can evaluate and rework their own systems with equity at their core.
