Joann Hulquist
As a recently retired elementary and middle school administrator from the Beaverton School District in Oregon, Joann Hulquist has a wealth of experience in education. Prior to her administrative roles, she served as a classroom teacher for grades two through six and as an ESL Teacher, demonstrating her commitment to diverse student populations.
Currently, Joann Hulquist serves as an Adjunct Professor for George Fox University’s Administrative Licensure Program, imparting her knowledge and expertise to future educational leaders. She also works as a consultant for various districts’ Multilingual Departments, specializing in co-teaching implementation. Additionally, Joann contributes as a long-term administrative substitute for the Beaverton School District, maintaining her engagement with the local education community.
While Joann has primarily worked in Beaverton, Oregon, her influence extends across multiple states, including Oregon, Washington, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. Furthermore, she impacts students globally, with involvement in licensure programs for students in Europe and Asia.
Reflecting on her career, Joann identifies her time as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for the district’s multilingual department as her favorite role. She cherishes the collaborative learning environment and shared accountability among her diverse team, finding excitement in the collective pursuit of educational excellence.
